Maritime Monday!
I don't know what it is, but I have always been drawn to that crisp nautical look.
The white and navy stripes, the navy blazer with the gold buttons and the striped breton sweaters.
I was about 10 when I got a blue and white striped jumper with an anchor on it. I can still picture it perfectly and it is the most favourite piece of clothing I have ever owned.
Maybe that's where my love for the nautical style comes from.
Eventhough it is far from boating season yet, and spring has definitely not sprung in my part of the world, I just wanted to share some of my favourite nautical looks with you.
My favourite striped shirts are from Saint James which is a French brand but there are many other great ones out there. My Saint James shirts (and I own many) are perfect for boating. they are a UV protected fabric and can be washed a 1000 times and still look like new.
They also have a wide range in cotton for those of you who prefer a natural fabric, and beautiful wool sweaters.
Chicos has some great striped tops as well.
I always have a few navy blazers and sweaters in my closet.
My favourite navy blazer at the moment is from Chicos. It is a knit fabric and is oh so comfy to wear.
And let's not forget about the white pants, another staple in the nautical wardrobe.
I own way too many of those, but you know I love to wear them year around.
I have had much success with Chicos and Eileen Fisher pants, they just are a good fit for me.
I wear a size 1 in Chicos and a size S in Eileen Fisher.
To bring some colour to a navy and white outfit I love to carry a colourful bag.
For years I have been collecting Longchamp "lepliage" bags because they are hands down the most practical bags around.
You can fold them to practically nothing and when in use they are light and seem to hold everything but the kitchen sink.
They come in so many colours! I take quite a few with me when traveling on the boat or otherwise.
For shoes, I prefer my white sneakers (again, I own many) but my favourite and most comfortable are my Eileen Fisher sneakers.
I have worn them all summer and they are the most comfortable. Made of recycled materials and also super light.
For a slightly dressier look I wear ballet flats. I love my Chanel flats (definitely worth the money) but there are so many great ones out there.

Happy Monday!
