From Jones to Orcas

We left Jones Island this morning and headed for Orcas.

The weather was absolutely beautiful and we had a great crossing.

I always love coming here because Orcas has such a cool vibe and Eastsound is the cutest little town.

In the past we used to stay in a private marina called Brandt’s Landing in Eastsound which was within walking distance of the town of Eastsound which has great coffee shops, restaurants and artisan shops.

However, in the past few years we have been staying at the reciprocal dock in Westsound at the Orcas Island Yacht Club.

There is not a whole lot to do  around the reciprocal dock and definitely not within walking distance.

This is why it is so great we have our folding Magnum e-bikes on board.

I remember the day about 5 years ago when Captain Jeff came up with the idea of buying e-bikes for the boat.

I was very sceptical because I didn't think we were going to use them that much.

I just thought it was another little (expensive) gimmick we didn't need.

For months he researched all the bikes out there and finally came up with the Magnum Premium folding bike.

This bike had everything we were looking for.

Front suspension, a big comfy seat and a powerful battery. It also has a throttle that comes in very handy at times and, the best of all, they fit on the back deck of the boat and are not in our way when we are on the water.

I was quite nervous to try it but from the very first time I rode it, I absolutely loooooved it!!!

It also took our boating trips to a whole new level since we can now get around all the islands and explore.

We have put so many miles on these bikes and have loved every minute of it.

A few weeks ago I upgraded to the new high step Premium Magnum folding bike, and it is even better!

It is possibly the best money we ever spent. An absolute must for all you boaters out there.

For all my American readers, you can check out the bike here and with my code Renate10 you get 10% off regular priced bikes!

Stay tuned for more biking adventures!

love,
Renate
