East Sound

We left Fossil Bay yesterday morning and had a lovely cruise to Orcas Island. Nice and calm, just the way I like it. Orcas Island is definitely one of my favourites. Last year we discovered the Orcas Island Yacht Club and their great reciprocal dock in West Sound. There really isn’t much around there but because we have our bikes it’s a great ride to East Sound, Deer Harbor or the Mansion at Rosario.

East Sound is a very cute town with little artisan shops, wonderful places to stop for a coffee or a drink and a wonderful grocery store. We biked into East Sound, got some necessities and on the way back made a stop at the West Sound resort. This is a great place to stop for a drink and take in the view.

Back on the boat, we ate left overs, sat on the bow for awhile and turned in early. It’s amazing how early it is dark at night. Fall is definitely in the air.
